Born in the Borders is much more than just a cafe, restaurant and shops. It’s about a lifestyle rooted firmly in the Borders countryside, a belief in provenance, and an appreciation of the natural world around us.
That’s why we’ve tried to create as many ways as possible to connect with those surroundings.
You might want to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life in one of our beautiful safari tents, where you can pick your own vegetables, slow cook on a wood burning stove and relax in our wood-fired hot tubs.
Or cast a fly for a trout on a balmy summer’s evening; take a stroll along the meandering River Teviot as it wends its way downstream to Kelso; or join us for one of our many regular events celebrating local producers, nature, laughter, and wholesome good fun.
For children, the grounds around Born in the Borders are a playground, with mazes, Mini Beast safaris and streams to splash about in. And we’re helping to bring the next generation of Borderers into the world thanks to our charitable tie-up with the Borders General Hospital Maternity Unit.
So whether you just want a coffee, or you want to spend a whole week under canvas living and breathing the Borders itself, we’ve always got something to offer …
